About Me

Originally from Yorkshire, at 18 I had no clue that English and Scots law were any different. So I merrily set off to Glasgow, studying Scots law and qualifying as a Scottish solicitor, specialising in corporate debt.

For 10 years I worked between Edinburgh and London on a great variety of corporate transactions, whilst also undertaking a masters by research in company law, and a PhD. I was an honorary lecturer at the University of Glasgow between 2017 and 2020, and in 2019 I swapped my suit for tweed to begin work at Edinburgh Law School.

During my time at Edinburgh Law School, I have been Director of CPD, co-Director of Alumni Relations, co-Director of Advancement, and Head of Commercial Law.

I am on sabbatical until January 2024, and on my return I will take up the position of Director of External Relations, overseeing Edinburgh Law School's relations with the outside world.

Outside of work, I am a keen pawrent to a very spoiled cockerpoo, called Rufus, and a very keen (but average) lawn bowls player.
